1. & 2. Day: Sossusvlei

Namib Desert in Namibia After your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport we bring you to Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, about 40km away. The drive through the breathtaking landscape along the Namib leads you past the Duwisib Castle, built in the early 1900’s and presently serving as a museum and well worth a visit. Your destination for today is one of the lodgings near Sossusvlei, a mostly dried out vlei surrounded by the highest dunes in the world. Surrounded by the tranquillity of the desert you let this day fade out. In the early morning hours of the next day your second trip to Sossusvlei is planned allowing you to experience the sunrise in the vlei. In the afternoon you will visit the Sesriem Canyon, probably the smallest canyon in the world. Alternatively we can organise a scenic flight over the Namib at your request (not included in the original offer).

Kilometres for the day: ±250 (1st day)

Overnight with Dinner and Breakfast at Sossusvlei Lodge.

3. Day: Swakopmund

Swakopmund - Coastal town at the Atlantic Ocean Today’s journey through the seemingly endless scenery of the Namib brings you to Swakopmund, Namibia’s most favoured holiday resort on the coast of the Atlantic. Approximately halfway you can take a break at the Rostock Ritz, a welcome oasis in this barren landscape. Swakopmund offers many different interesting possibilities to relax and a magnitude of activities can be organised for you from here, e.g. countrywide scenic flights, boat trips, Dune boarding, Quad biking, and many more.

4. Day: Swakopmund Surroundings

The surroundings of Swakopmund host many interesting sightings, for instance the pre-historic plant Welwitschia Mirabilis with specimen over 2500 years old. A tour through the “Moon landscape” and the Swakopriver guarantees an eventful day.
